Every Wednesday Ms. Megan from the Sanibel Public Library comes in an reads a book to our students in each classroom. These books are connected to the material the students are learning about that week. This offers the students a chance to engage with members of our community outside of the school.

At The Children’s Education Center of the Islands we follow the Calendar for the Lee County School District and will be closed from Monday December 25th to Friday Janurary 5th with students returning to campus on Monday Janurary 8th.
Families are encouraged to utilize Tadpoles to reach staff during this time or email Executive Direction, Michelle Keltner, at cecidirector@gmail.com with questions.

We can not wait for Back to School Night on August 10th from 5pm to 7pm. We look forward to showing our enrolled families the newly renovated campus. Our teachers are eagar to meet the students who will be filling the school with laughter and learning this year. Join CECI at Ding Darling’s 2nd Annual Conservation Carnival on April 22, 2023 from 10am to 2pm. Free games, music, and fund. We will be there sponsoring a game and a craft with Ms. Sherry there to celebrate a fun day at Lakes Park.

Join The Sanibel Rec Center, CECI, and The Sanibel School PTA for a fun morning of Easter crafts and egg hunts. Do crafts with Ms. Sherry and get your picture taken with the Easter bunny. The event starts at 9am with an Easter egg hunt by age starting at 10am. Be sure your little ones go for the golden eggs as they will featuer coupons and gift certificates from local businesses. The event will take place at The Sanibel School Pavilion.

Join us at the Sanibel Community Park at 8am on Thursday March 30th to let your voice be heard. This event and surveys generated will be used as public comment for the Lee Resilency Taskforce and Lee County Board of County Comissioners as they decide where relief funding from Hurricane Ian will be spent. Please help us speak up for the children of Sanibel and ensure they are not left out!

Join us back on Sanibel for a day of playing, crafting, and spending time with our school community. We will meet at The Sanibel Community Park on Saturday March 11th from 9am to 11am for some playing, crafting, and solcializing with our community. This event is open to our parent and island community.

Join at the Bell Tower Shops for the dedication of a Free Little Library in honor of The Children’s Education Center of the Islands. Any extra books collected from this library will be donated to the school to replenish our book lost during Hurricane Ian. This is a family event at 4PM near MacIntosh Books & Paper in the Bell Tower. There might even be confetti canons!
Come see your CECI friends and their families at a family meet up at Estero Community Park. We have reserved the pavilion near the playground for a day of family fun. This is an opportunity for our community to get together while our school is being rebuilt. This will be a pot luck so bring snacks, drinks, or food to share. Some of your CECI teachers will be there with a nature craft for the kids. We hope to see many of you there.
