Thanks to The Sanctuary Golf Club Foundation, Children’s Education Center of the Islands will be able to provide scholarships to help families in need send their preschoolers to summer camp. With camp starting June 8th, families with children between the ages of one and five are encouraged to contact CECI right away to take advantage of this opportunity.
The Sanctuary Golf Club Foundation awarded $25,000 in scholarship funds to ensure the children of young families who were hit hardest by the Covid crisis still have access to rich, educational experiences. In addition, The Sanctuary Foundation granted an additional $3,000 in funding to install a sun-protective shade awning for the school.
This generous grant comes at the most opportune time. Due to Covid-19 a lot of the families that CECI serves have been financially impacted. CECI was not able to hold their traditional Spring Festival due to the pandemic. Spring Festival typically raises money to replenish their scholarship program for the upcoming school year. Thankfully, SGCF has granted a sufficient amount of scholarship funds that CECI will be able to grant scholarships to families in desperate need.
The Children’s Education Center of the Islands is a place created to support and connect young children, families, and teachers to their natural environment. Nature-based learning has vast benefits and should be readily available to all children; regardless of location, socioeconomic status, culture, race, or religion. The Children’s Education Center of the Islands provides nature connection experiences as well as an exceptional early childhood education program. On average 25% of CECI’s students attend on scholarship. Due to recent times, CECI’s scholarship funds were drawing close to depletion.
Summer camp and school registration is now open. If you are interested in registering please visit our website at www.childrenseducationcenter.com or call 239-472-458 for more information.
